I have been a professional performer for over 30 years. I trained as an actor and have worked in stage and film for many years under my stage name Liza Huget. I have also produced, directed and taught theatre. In 2002, I began to gain momentum as a singer. I have opened for such greats as Tower of Power and performed for George Benson. After touring internationally for two years as a lead singer in a five star cover band, I returned to Vancouver in 2005. I decided to take a 4 year hiatus from performing , and in 2008, returned to the music. I have been the lead singer with The Sotight Band since then. I worked for a short time with a guitarist on a duo project, ( demo is on the music page) and am currently available as a jazz duo with a pianist.
I have worked with Rogers communication from 2007 - 2016as a commercial voice over artist and have voiced a children's i book (The Bewitched Wife), available on iTunes . https://itunes.apple.com/ca/book/the-bewitched-wife/id591311111?mt=11
Because of the transformative element that movement and voice work have had in my life, I have always been interested in the healing qualities of expression. This curiosity brought me to mentor with a voice teacher who encouraged me to become a therapist. I followed her advice, became an Expressive Art Therapist and have been working in this field for 10 years at Turning Point Recovery. During that time, I also became a certified meditation instructor and completed my training in addictions and community service work achieving a diploma with honors. I also a certified Life coach and have completed my 200hr yoga teacher training.
I am available as a one on one Expressive Art Therapist, Certified Life Coach, group facilitator , and performer.
